Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College & Hospital

Dr. Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital was established in 1988.

In view of the ongoing feeling of inadequacy of the premises and land to provide adequate services, the Government decided to shift the Medical College and Hospital to 115 acres of land at Vishnupuri.

The shifting to the new premises was completed by October 2015, and the institution became functional at Vishnupuri on 20-10-2015.

Nanded is a primary centre for healthcare in the under-developed region of Marathwada, Maharashtra. Apart from nearby districts, needy persons from the borders of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka also seek medical treatment at this institute in large numbers.
